We want to make you aware of major service and fare changes that may impact your ride with SEPTA.

Without additional funding in the coming weeks from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, SEPTA will be forced to implement a 21.5% fare hike and reduce transit services starting August 24, 2025. These steps are needed to close a $213 million budget gap caused by rising operating costs, the end of federal COVID relief, and ridership that hasnt fully rebounded from the pandemic.

All transit modes will be affected, especially the bus system. These significant changes could impact your student commutes and use of Key cards for access to other essential services. SEPTA will be posting discontinuation signs at transit centers and bus stops starting this week and wanted to be sure we shared this information with you. For details on all affected services, visit .

We know public transportation is critical to our region, and we regret the need for these reductions. We will keep you updated as the situation evolves. Thank you for your continued support and membership in the SEPTA Key Advantage UPass Program.
